With a number of great new Committee of Management members aboard, the team in Australia are building some pretty big plans to expand the fundraising and awareness we do in the region.
In 2015 we experienced a great opportunity with the release of Noble, the biopic film of our Founders life.
It had a moderate distribution in Australia and New Zealand was the jewel in the crown in regards to the number of cinemas it was screened in. New Zealand has a much more independent cinema culture and it was showing in over 70 cinemas across the country and was really well received by audiences.

Phuong was working with our team in Vietnam after returning to Vietnam and is thrilled to be able to continue working with the CNCF Family here in Australia. Phuong will be our Noble Community Development Officer and will be focusing on the growth of our Vietnam Community relations, Child Sponsorship Program and as well as supporting our Noble Ambassadors out there in their communities.
Last weekend 4 very tired and proud Aussies returned to our shores after a mammoth week exploring the Mongolian countryside by bike, foot and horse all in the name of the Sunshine Children of CNCF Mongolia.
20 intrepid travellers from the UK, Netherlands, India, Vietnam, Germany, Ireland, Scotland and the US joined Terry, Joss, Amy & Kirrily from Australia on the Mongolia Noble Challenge to cycle 115km, hike 43km and horseride 55km through the Terelj National Park of Mongolia.
The team also successfully raised around $90,000 through their fundraising challenge as well. The funds will be directed to the Blue Skies Ger Village which our Noble Challengers had the pleasure of visiting directly after the Challenge.
On Tuesday the 19th of July Monique, her husband Terry and their two friends Robyn and Don visited our beautiful Sunshine Centre in Ho Chi Minh City in Vietnam. While visiting we were so grateful that Monique had brought along a great amount of luggage full of uniforms to donate for the children to try on, wear and have some fun with! These were generously donated by her employer PSW Quality Apparrel.
On Sunday 18 September we had a Team of over 30 Noble runners take part in the Blackmores Sydney Running Festival. Our Team Noble runners took part in a variety of events choosing from the 4km Family Fun Run, the 9km Sydney Harbour Bridge Run, Half Marathon and Full Marathon.
On Thursday the 9th of June, we gathered our best baristas and volunteers and headed downtown to the ANZ Bank World HQ in Melbourne’s Dockland precinct for some delicious (and hot) coffee all in the name of World No Child Labour Day.
Our Social Enterprise Sunshine Café was on location from 7am until 11am and, to say the very least, it was a huge success. The city was up bright and early on the chilly winter morning but our team was ready to go with our baristas from our wonderful sponsors at Grinders Coffee, pumping out delicious coffee all morning.
Noble Walkers is one of our new annual fundraising campaigns the Foundation hass to raise funds for our programs in Vietnam and Mongolia. Not only is it for an amazing purpose of providing clean water to impoverished families in rural parts of the Mekong Delta, it also gives our supporters a chance to come together with their own friends, family and colleagues for a Noble Cause.
During we have had 4 groups of CNCF Noble Walkers showing their support and walking, climbing and trekking in a tremendous effort to raise for CNCF!
By taking on the simple process of creating a walk yourself, inviting as a handful of people and following our easy steps to sponsorship – they managed to raise over $4,000, that equates to 15 families in the Vinh Long Province now having access to clean and safe water!
Being a Noble Walker is just one reason to get up for a Sunday morning walk with your family and friends while raising crucial funds for children in Vietnam and Mongolia who don’t have access to the necessities of life we take for granted.
Here are three great stories of the month of March which was considered our Noble Walkers month!
CNCF had the amazing opportunity to be the Charity Partner and join in on the celebrations of the South East Asia Festival held in Melbourne on 12 - 13th March 2016 as part of the Melbourne Food & Wine Festival.
The weekend was great success from the food, drink and music to our very first Social Enterprise the Sunshine Café, we are so proud to have been a part of it!
Both days were great and was filled with laughter, smiles and lots of chatter. To say the least, we had an incredible couple of days.
Our team in Australia have some pretty big audacious goals this year and we are out to make a difference!
We want to double our fundraising dollars over what has been raised in past couple of years; grow the number of children we sponsor from 300 to 400; as well as expand our team to support all of our wonderful Noble Community in Australia and the ever growing Noble Community in New Zealand thanks to the exposure that the NOBLE movie has given our Foundation.
