Introduction to the Australia Office
The Melbourne office of The Christina Noble Children's Foundation, is located in a shared office in Prahran. The Charity in Australia has been established since 2000 with an awareness of the CNCF having been substantially buoyed through significant publicity achieved at the time of Christina's last visit to Australia and through her books and documentaries. The proximity of Australia to Vietnam and the significant number of Vietnamese immigrants in Australia also creates an empathy with the plight of children in Vietnam. Given the relatively small population of Australia, we have a large base of nearly 400 sponsored children generating a significant proportion of our operating revenue. We have a small number of very dedicated volunteers who perform a variety of tasks for us, the most prominent of which is graphic design for marketing material including newsletters, promotional flyers and annual reports. In addition, our band of committed supporters regularly raise significant funds for us through fundraising events or charity challenges, often involving trips to Vietnam and Mongolia.

Local News & Events
Up for the challenge
Krysten Basso and Lisa Sharpe, from Bangalow on the Far North Coast of NSW, have almost raised their target of $8,000 for a cycling challenge in Vietnam. For 10 days in mid-November, they will explore the coastal area of mid-Vietnam with Raw Travel. They chose to raise funds for CNCF because they believe the organisation does fantastic work and they know how lucky they are to be raising children in Australia. They also wanted to give back to the country they would be travelling in and loved Raw Travel's idea of 'travelling with a purpose'. |

'Mums Making a Difference'
Three Mums decided earlier in the year to have a holiday together without their kids or husbands and thought that Vietnam would be just the ticket. Dani Moger had read Christina's story many years ago and had always wanted to try and help. So the three ladies decided to fill empty bags with donations for the kids. The idea snowballed from there and 'Mums Making a Difference' was born.
They decided to support the Bicycle Program and were able to purchase 20 brand-spanking new bikes and helmets for some very excited children. It was with great pride that they visited the Foundation on 11th September 2009 and presented on behalf of everyone involved, these wonderful bikes and four huge bags of donations, including art supplies, medical equipment, toys and more.
