The idea of the Noble Circle was created by Christina Noble one night in Dublin in July 1999. After much discussion with friends about how to involve people of all walks of life in supporting the work of the Christina Noble Children's Foundation, no matter how much or how little they could afford to give, Christina said:
To establish a Noble Circle is easy! Just gather a group of at least two friends, colleagues, school friends or relatives (there is no maximum number) who all want to help raise awareness and funds for CNCF. Then, commit to hosting at least one fundraising event per year (it doesn't matter whether it's a small pub quiz or a extravagant gala ball as every bit counts). If you can do that, all you need is a name and voila, you have your own Noble Circle!
Each Noble Circle has its very own web page within this CNCF site where your nominated Administrator can post your news and events and, once proofed by our Webmaster, these are included in the main News and Events sections of the website (with a Noble Circle icon to denote its importance!). See an example. Where possible, Circles support other Circle events and before long, you could have friends all over the world who are interested in the protection of children's rights and in helping CNCF carry out our valuable work.
To help you get started, why not look at our extensive list of fundraising ideas? Once you have decided what you would like to do, you must receive written permission from your nearest CNCF office. After you've hosted the event (and posted the news and photos!), contact the same CNCF office to arrange for payment of monies.
Since the Noble Circles began, a long list has been established around the world and we're fast building an online community - a circle of Circles if you like!
To start your own Noble Circle, just complete this form and send it to us for assessment! We'll get back to you as soon as possible (from a few days up to a couple of weeks).
When your application has been approved, we'll email you to let you know your Noble Circle membership is activated. With your login details you can start updating your website with your news and planned events.
Remember, you only need to organise at least fundraising event each year to be part of the fun. (Nobles Circles who do not fulfil their obligation may be removed) The most important thing, however, is not how much money you raise but how successful you are in making your friends, neighbours, colleagues, relatives and your community at large aware of the need to become involved in preserving the dignity of childhood.
