Rural Medical Stations Construction
- Vietnam -
The Rural Medical Stations Programme evolved because we could see the geographical limitations of a Medical Assistance Programme based in Ho Chi Minh City. We knew we could only reach those living within a certain radius of the city.
We have now constructed four medical stations in rural and remote parts of southern Vietnam in partnership with the Department of Labor, Invalid and Social Affairs. These medical stations provide medical care for thousands of people – adults and children alike - annually. Previously, there were inadequate healthcare facilities and urgent medical assistance was not available in the community. Our main target areas are: preventative health care, infectious disease prevention and child health care. The medical stations also provide family planning, pre & post-natal care and community health meetings.
