In late May the team from the Medical Assistance Program (MAP) paid home visits to 6 children in Kien Giang Province. This province is located in the Mekong Delta region of Vietnam about 270 kms from Ho Chi Minh City.
Among these children, one suffers from cataracts and the other 5 from heart problems. The child with cataracts had a successful operation on both eyes at HCMC Eye Hospital and her eyesight has recovered to approximately 70%.
Four of the children suffering from heart disease have fully recovered and will need further follow up treatments. The 2-year old girl needs to have a stent in her heart replaced twice more up until the age of 18 as she grows and then she should have a full recovery.
It is truly an honour to be apart of The Christina Noble Children’s Foundation knowing that we can make a difference by bringing smiles to the faces of these little angels.
