For the past 5 months, our 5th Grade Sunshine School class has been hosted by Ky Dong Swimming Centre, where meeting once a week, 22 students have been taught how to swim.
In a country where 32 children die every day due to drowning, which include 68% of cases caused by unsupervised swimming, guiding our children to understand water safety has been a priority for the Foundation.
Water safety is something taught at an early age in some countries, but it's important to remember the dangers of water, especially in a place like Vietnam, where heavy rains and inadequate infrastructure can place children in danger on a regular basis.
Thank you to the Ky Dong Swimming Pool and Swim Vietnam for taking the time to teach our Sunshine School Children, the vital skills learnt by their instruction will benefit not only themselves, but also their communities and families.
