Providing education to break the cycle of poverty

VIETNAM

Son Ca Kindergarten

The kindergarten and day care (called Son Ca Songbird Unit) for community children ages 3 to 5 years for underprivileged children is housed in CNCF’s flagship Sunshine Social and Medical Centre. At Son Ca, children receive care and early childhood education in a safe and loving environment where their nutrition and health needs are monitored daily. Without CNCF’s support, many parents would have no choice but to take their children to work or leave them home alone. Classes follow the Vietnam National Curriculum for early school education and we modify teaching methods to meet our children’s learning needs.

The ESP offers scholarships are awarded to eligible students from Ho Chi Minh City and several rural provinces in the Mekong Delta region.

Arts & Music Programme

The programme uses the transformative power of the arts and music to help disadvantaged children build self-esteem, confidence, and social skills by allowing them to explore their imaginations and creativity in a safe, supportive, and loving environment. Art and music play a crucial role in the social, intellectual, cognitive, and emotional growth and development of all children. Art and music can help children control their emotions, which is a critical skill for all children and is particularly vital for the children our Foundation serves who are raised in poverty and experience daily emotional stress.

Sports Programme

CNCF’s Sports Programme provides children with the opportunity to play sports, build good health, to learn team work, improve social skills, to protect themselves and build confidence, and to keep children off the streets where they are vulnerable.CNCF strongly believes in the transformative power of the sports in enabling disadvantaged children to build their self-esteem and develop into happy, fulfilled and expressive young adults. We believe that an education without exposure to the sports and arts is not a complete education.
