As volunteers, we were responsible primarily for organising activities, feeding and providing care to these children of varying needs and abilities. Activities included, but were not limited to, arts and crafts, music, outdoor activities, books, puzzles and everything in between! The work was challenging at times but the joy on these children happy in face of adversity and misfortune was inspiring and something that will stay with me forever. The sunshine centre is an inspiring place to work. The commitment shown by the staff and volunteers to these children is exceptional. There is a family feeling to the centre where everyone is valued and everyone strives towards the goal of providing each child with the childhood they deserve.
The impact the foundation has had on Vietnam is extraordinary. The work done by the foundation continues to be as relevant today as the day Christina Noble set foot in the country and they will strive to provide to as many children and families as possible in an attempt to reverse the cycle of poverty. Working in the sunshine centre was an incredible experience and rewarding beyond words."
