CNCF is delighted to announce that the Limited Edition Ladies’ Long Lunch 2021 took place on Friday 8th October* and saw 150 of Hong Kong’s influential women join together in raising over HKD1.1million and continuing our mission ‘to give children back their childhood’.
In the midst of a typhoon and torrential rains, our determined guests braved flooded roads and extra-long journeys to turn out and support the 12th Annual Ladies’ Long Lunch. While the wild weather continued outside, inside it was all sunshine and laughter as the ladies enjoyed the first in-person Ladies’ Long Lunch since April 2019.
This year’s extra special limited edition travel theme saw guests greeted by CNCF’s ‘airline’ crew who issued boarding cards for paradise island-themed tables whilst our capable MCs Ben Cullen and Eileen O’Connell kept guests entertained and ensured the smooth running of Flight LLL2021.
In-flight entertainment was provided by the spectacular dance duo, Angelique and Ryan Hammond of Ballroom Bees who ensured the party got off to a flying start. As the rain poured so did the champagne, and one delighted winner of our ‘Glitter in a Glass’ competition got to take home a ‘Coco’ diamond pendant by Ryder Diamonds. The Limited Edition LLL also saw 6 winners in our inaugural Luxury Lucky Draw.
Thank you to our title sponsor for a third year, DHL, and to our new airline partner Virgin Atlantic for making travel a reality for one lucky lady who was thrilled to win 2 Upper Class return flights to London and a 24-hour experience at The Edwardian in our Live Auction.
Our Fashion Surprise had everyone dreaming of holidays with our very own guests rocking the runway in beautiful resort wear by TABLA, accompanied by the East Rows West team who will be rowing across the Atlantic Ocean in December. No travel is complete without some ‘holiday’ snaps – our guests were transported to the French Riviera at the Venture Photography photo booth.
This year, for those already struggling with a life of abject poverty, the impact of a global pandemic has been a merciless blow. There was not a dry eye in the room when the guests heard the touching story of Mai Anh, who grew up in the CNCF Sunshine Home for Girls, providing a safe nurturing home for vulnerable girls. An incredible HK$250,000 was pledged for the Sunshine Home for Girls, empowering children like Mai Anh to lift themselves out of pain and poverty and to change their life and destiny.
All of this would not have been made possible without the support from all our generous sponsors, guests and volunteers. A warm and heartfelt thank you for their help to raise desperately needed funds for the Foundation’s children in Vietnam and Mongolia.
